GFX Design-it-Yourself Postcards
Help and How To Information

General Information & Privacy Policy

You'll be using stock photographs supplied by GFX. If you are supplying your own artwork, this section does not apply. The Design-it-Yourself area of our web site uses Flash 6.0, JavaScript, Cookies and CSS extensively. In order to use this area, your browser preferences needs to accept all the above. NO information is collected by GFX; it is stored on your own computer to create postcards (DIY) and save photographs up to 30 days (Lightbox).

Any distortion, fuzziness, cutting off, or other oddities viewed on your monitor will not be in the final printed postcards. See below for what the icons mean.

5 Steps on How to Design Your Own Custom Printed Postcard.

1. Browse or Search the Categories of photographs and "Select" one.

You can Select a photo by either clicking on the thumbnail, or directly on it in the larger view.

2. You can now customize the front with a Headline and/or your Logo. You can also leave it blank.

"Click and Type Here" means that you move your mouse into that area and click on it. English only.

Click "Continue" at the bottom of page.

3. Select a template for your back choice. Note that the horizontal template can be further customized, eg: you can remove the return address, postal lines, etc. in "More Options".

If choosing the vertical non-mailer, there are no additional font choices for the footer/bottom/address area.

Once you've customized the back with your text (in English characters only), click "Continue" at bottom of page.

4. You're almost done!

At this Preview stage, you can edit the front or back, or Continue to place your order.

LOGO: your logo needs to be in vector format (CMYK for the front and Greyscale for the back). Your GFX representative will contact you once they receive your order.

5. Place Order online using Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

All your selections will be visible on the order form, which you can go back and change.

LEGEND: Icons and What They Mean

Lightbox.

The Lightbox feature is to add (+) or remove (-) your favorites into a Photo Album. You can save photos for up to 30 days. Note that your Photo Album will not work unless you accept cookies. These images are saved in your browser settings, not in our computers.

Application Zoom.

This text zoom feature is to get a close-up of your text in the application. Once you are over 100% (up to 200%), just hold your mouse down within the red box, and you can zoom different areas of the photo and text. The photo will probably show up fuzzy or cut off, but don't worry, it won't print that way!

Zoom.

The photo zoom icon is to view a larger photo. All photos are thumbnails until you zoom in on it.

Select.

The checkmark icon is used to "select" your photo for further customizing.

Previous Page.

For "previous" page of the thumbnail photos.

Next Page.

For "next" page of the thumbnail photos.

Search.

You can search using a keyword to find a photo. The search function is located near the top right-hand side.

View Lightbox.

You can view your lightbox (Photo Album) once you have saved at least 1 photo. Your favorite photos can be accessed for 1 month, as long as you don't clear your browser cookie sessions.

Want to do more?

If you'd like to use one or more of our stock photographs for your marketing campaign, but need further customization, GFX can do that for an additional fee of $60 to $95, depending on your needs. Call us at 905-828-7399 or send an email to mailbox@gfxinc.com and tell us what you want.

Can I add my
own photos?

No. This is what our regular postcard section is for, i.e.: you've designed your own postcard, and now just need it printed.
